What is Enliven Planters?

Enliven Planters is a seasonal planter subscription service specializing in custom-designed planters and window box arrangements. We elevate residential and commercial properties throughout the Greater Philadelphia area with professionally designed, seasonally planted containers.

How does the design process work?

During your consultation, we evaluate your space, lighting conditions, style preferences, and seasonal considerations. Using this information, our designers create handcrafted arrangements each season that both complement your property and perform well in your specific environment.

How is pricing determined? How do I measure my containers?

Pricing is standardized and based on container size, with all services priced per season (each planting).

  • Round planters: measured by the outside diameter
  • Square/rectangular planters: measured by outside length and width
  • Window boxes: measured by outside length

Are there different pricing tiers?

No. Pricing is based solely on container size and season. Every Enliven arrangement receives the same level of design quality, plant variety, and attention to detail—regardless of size. That consistency is what Enliven is known for.

Why are measurements based on the outside of the container?

We price based on the outside dimensions to ensure arrangements are properly scaled to the full visual size of the container. Containers vary widely in rim thickness and shape, and designing to interior dimensions often results in arrangements that look undersized or disproportionate. Our approach ensures balanced, polished results every time.

Do I have to sign up for a 4-season subscription?

No. Our services are priced per season, whether you plant once or on an ongoing basis.

Our most popular option is our 4-season subscription (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter). We also offer a 2-season option, typically Summer (May) and Fall/Winter (October). We’ll help you choose the cadence that best fits your needs.

Can I skip a season?

Yes. Our goal is to make having beautiful planters simple and flexible. Many clients adjust their planting schedule due to travel or seasonal living. You’re welcome to skip a season or pause your subscription—just let us know, and we’ll help tailor a schedule that works for you.

Do you plant or install second story window boxes?

At this time, we are no longer taking on new customers that require ladders for planting.

What other services do you provide beside seasonal planters and window boxes?

We specialize in seasonal planters and window box design and are acutely focused on being the best and most convenient container gardening service. In addition to this, we do offer:

  • Seasonal pumpkin stylings in the Fall.
  • Seasonal wreath and garland stylings in the Winter.
  • Professional window box installation
  • Light-touch landscape services like tree/bed plantings and yard cleanups in May and October only.

Here is a list of frequently requested services that we do not provide at this time.

  • Indoor plantings/installations, houseplants/plant care
  • Traditional retail garden center services
  • General landscape services such as hardscaping, irrigation, landscape design, and tree work.

What areas do you service?

We serve the Greater Philadelphia region, including:

Pennsylvania: Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, and Chester Counties
New Jersey: Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic, and Cape May Counties

Do you service the Jersey Shore?

Yes. We service select Jersey Shore locations during the summer season. Shore plantings typically occur in May, ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

Design-Related Questions

Can I choose my own plants or colors?

Most of our clients rely on our expertise to create arrangements that are both beautiful and easy to care for. If you have color preferences (for example, colors you love or want to avoid), please share them during your consultation.

We generally discourage requests for specific plants or major design deviations, as our clients are happiest when we apply our proven design approach.

Can I supply my own containers or window boxes?

Absolutely. The majority of our new clients already have containers or window boxes, and we’re happy to plant them for you.

Do you offer deer-resistant arrangements?

Yes—with some caveats. While no plant is truly deer-proof, we can modify designs using more deer-resistant options when deer are a concern. We recommend pairing our plant selections with deer deterrent sprays for best results. Please note that highly motivated deer may still graze when food sources are limited.

Scheduling Questions

Do I need to be home during installation?

No. As long as we have access to the planting area and clear instructions, our team can complete services without you being present. Appointments can be scheduled if access coordination is required.

Will I know when you’re coming to plant?

Yes. Each season, you’ll receive an email outlining our general planting window—typically a 2–3 week timeframe for your area. We schedule efficiently within that window to maximize enjoyment of each season.

If you have specific timing needs (events, travel, renovations), let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Exact dates and times are scheduled only when necessary.

Pricing & Payment

When do you charge for services?

Payment is collected after planting is completed. You’ll receive an invoice and seasonal care instructions by email following installation.

What payment methods do you accept?

We encourage clients to set up autopay with a credit card. We also accept ACH and check payments. Cash is not accepted.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. We offer digital gift cards. Contact us via email to set one up—we’re happy to help you select an option that makes the biggest impact.

Maintenance Questions

Do you offer maintenance services?

For residential clients, we include a complimentary mid-season pruning and fertilization for summer arrangements. Additional routine maintenance is not currently available for residential properties.

Custom maintenance and watering services are available for commercial clients by quote.

We also provide a spring cleanout of winter arrangements for clients enrolled in our 4-season subscription.

Do you offer watering services?

Residential: We do not currently offer regular watering services. We’re happy to recommend irrigation solutions or self-watering containers if needed.

Commercial: Ongoing watering and maintenance services are available by custom quote.
